Me and my friends are kind of competitive with these sorts of things, but this race isn’t really something I went into with any sort of goal. It’s really hard to prepare for running through mud, climbing over walls, tires, cars and jumping through fire! For reference- the best time for women was around 31 minutes. I don’t even want to share my time!! Let’s just say it was hard and I am still sore 3 days later!
The good thing about doing this race is that having a goal makes me work out more. Because I don’t want to come in last or look like a total fool, I do try to get in shape and at least be semi-prepared! So I have been running a few times a week to get in shape for the race! Next I think I will do the Livestrong 5k (in August)- my husband is doing the bike race that day so I might as well do something too!
Here are some pics from the event! Also- check me out over at “For the Love of Blogs” because I am featured on today’s “Getting Fit” post!! (also has more pics of me from the race and some race-day tips by me!)
The bus ride from the parking lot. Game faces.
I am super strong!
Our group after the race!
Me and my husband after the race and getting hosed off by the fire department. I painted my nails grey so you couldn’t see the mud under them!
