I am so excited to introduce my very first Super Sponsor to you guys! Elana is the great writer and photographer behind the blog Cropped Stories and I am honored she let me interview her!
I asked her 5 questions about her and her blog so we could all get to know her better and here is what she said!
1. Tell us a little abut you and your blog:
I am a proud mom to a toddler, (turning 3 in August). I chose to start my blog almost immediately after the birth of my first child. The minute she became a part of my life, I picked up a camera and that was it! I’ve been attached to the view finder ever since! How could I not having such a beautiful subject to photograph? Initially I blogged about photography, but it wasn’t long before I branched out. Now you can find content on everything from motherhood, family, photography, tips & tutorials, product recommendations, consumer information, crafts, and Intermittent
Exotropia (a condition Alivia has) to free downloads such as storyboard/collage templates, frames, printables, etc.
2. Your blog is about a lot of things- parenting, photography, motherhood, blogging tips: what is your favorite thing to blog about?
My favorite topic to blog about? That’s a tough one. It’s a toss up between family and tips/tutorials (whether it be about photography, blogging, social media, etc.). I love to pass on information that may be helpful to others.
3. What is your best photography tip you would like to share?
Shoot in natural light when possible! There is a noticeable difference between images taken using a flash or artificial lighting and ones that were taken using natural light. Nothing, in my opinion, can imitate natural light.
4. What are your plans for this summer?
Lots of road trips! Amusement and water parks, swimming, kayaking, zoos, picnicking in the park, bike riding, etc. We love the outdoors!
5. What is your favorite activity to do with your daughter?
It’s hard to choose one because we have so much fun together doing just about anything at all! We love to get silly, sing (she knows the words to almost my entire Country Song playlist), and dance! My favorite indoor activity with Alivia is reading. It’s so much fun to get lost in a story. It also gives me the opportunity to teach her new things as she is constantly asking “what is this mama” especially when it’s a new book we haven’t read before. Mostly, though, I love that she wants to participate and try to read herself. It’s adorable! For an outdoor activity, I’d have to go with our park adventures (full of swinging, sliding, climbing, picnicking, picking flowers, and just observing nature)!
Thanks for letting me interview you Elana! Everyone make sure you hop on over and check out her awesome blog!!
