This weekend we decided to stay home instead of going to the usual game watch party with our alumni group. Instead, we threw ourselves our own mini-tailgate party!
Step 1: prepare the themed cookies the night before! Less to do the day of. And by the way, these cookies, omg. They are so good and you can make them for anything, just change the colors of the M&Ms and boom! Good for any kind of theme party or holiday!
Step 2: Dress for the occasion in your game day shirt! This is mine, it is very well loved! (more on that in another post)
Step 3: Make sure your pets are appropriately attired as well! My dog is the one on the left, with the good color outfit on! Heehee!
Step 4: Babies must be appropriately dressed, too!
Step 5: Themed foods! We had Ibis wings (for Miami, thats their mascot) and Gator Bites (for UF)
(and yes, they are actually chicken wings and jalapeno poppers)
Step 6: Themed Drinks! We had Swamp Juice and Hurricanes!
The “hurricanes” were really good so here’s my recipe: V8 Splash mixed berry flavor, OJ and Rum! I think I used 4 cups of V8 splash, 2 cups of OJ and 1 1/2 cups of rum. It was awesome!
Did I mention the cookies?
Our indoor tailgate party was a success, it’s just too bad we lost! Oh well, it’s a game, not a season.
