“Eleven, eleven make a wish!” Have you ever said this (or thought it to yourself) when you saw 11:11 on the clock? I know I have, so I thought what better day to post about wishes than November 11th! There are several different theories as to where this “make a wish” idea came from- some are pretty far out there, some as simple as people enjoy seeing the balance of the same number on their clocks! Whatever the reason, I think it’s a fun little thing to do when you randomly see 11:11 come up on your clock! (I also like it when I see 12:34)
Today also happens to be Veteran’s Day (or Armistice Day for my non-American readers) which was started to recognize the end of World War One, and today we recognize veteran’s of all wars! So this, coupled with the 11/11 date makes it a nice time to make a wish, don’t you think?
My wish today is for my son!
Dear Carter,
I have a lot of wishes for you! I wish you grow up happy and healthy (of course!). But more than that!
I wish you meet and marry the woman of your dreams and you are so happy together!
I wish you find your passion and excel in it, whether it be sports, music, writing or something else all together!
I wish you do well in school and enjoy it, too!
I wish you have a lot of friends and a few very good friends. Friends you can count on through thick and thin. Friends who will drive you to the airport at 6:00am or help you move into your new house. Nothing shows you who your true friends are until you have to move!
I wish you find a job you love and make enough money to live without worry!
I wish you always know you can count on your family, and are never too cool, too important or too busy for us in return!
I wish you learn that the little things can be just as fun and important as the big things!
I wish for you to have the best and most fulfilling life possible. (that’s not too much to ask, right?)
Love always,
Mommy!
