The other day we were hanging out with friends and talking about all the snow (yes we talked about the weather, we are fun like that!) and we decided to try out making some snow ice cream!
All you need is: 1 cup of milk or cream, 1 cup of sugar (which turned out to be way too much, so maybe 1/2 a cup will do) and 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Oh, and a big bowl of CLEAN snow!!
Stir, stir, stir. I think we stirred too fast because it became kind of soupy. So I recommend stirring slowly so the milk freezes a little and you get a more “ice” consistency.

We all tried it and agreed it was waaaay too sugary. In the end we decided to make it “adult” ice cream and added some Kahlua, which made it very yummy!
Snow ice cream Kahlua slush! Cheers!
Carter got to play with the leftover snow! (until he tried to dump it out on the floor of course)
Now, something I should say as a disclaimer here is that, after the fact, I read about eating snow and I found out it’s actually not a very good idea. So use caution! Snow can contain pollutants and bacteria that can make you sick. My husband did get sick the next day, but we aren’t sure if it was from the snow or not. None of the rest of us who tried the snow ice cream got sick, including Carter.
Anyways, if you decide it’s worth the risk, be sure to use CLEAN untouched pure white snow! It was tasty! Let me know if you try it and how it turns out!
