Have you heard of Stitch Fix? It’s a subscription service where you get a box of clothes and accessories! When you sign up you fill out a style profile and answer questions about your style, needs and price points. Then you get a special box with 5 items chosen specifically for you based on your answers. You pay for only the items you want to keep after checking them out and send back the ones you don’t want in a prepaid package! I had seen a couple other bloggers sharing their Stitch Fixes so I thought I’d jump on the bandwagon. Here’s how it went:
My first Stitch Fix box! |
My five items were all clothes because I specifically stated that I did not need necklaces or other accessories. I received a dress, 2 shirts, a sweater and a pair of pants.
#1: My first item was this dress from 41Hawthorn. The dress was nice enough and the fabric was really silky and soft, but I really do not like the cut. I feel like this is a “work” dress and since I am a SAHM I do not need work kind of clothes. It just wasn’t flattering to my shape. STATUS: Sent back.
#2: Next up was this Ivy Tulip Print shirt from 41Harthron. I love this shirt! It was really comfortable and versatile! STATUS: Kept!
#3: The Margaret M red skinny jeans were the next item in my box. They fit like a glove and were super comfortable! The material was really nice and the cute was flattering. I really loved them actually, but I just bought a pair of red pants a few weeks ago and I don’t need two. Especially considering the price these pants were! STATUS: Sent back
#4: Three dots “addy” striped French Terry Short Sleeve shirt. I do like this shirt, it was a nice fit and comfortable. The inside is the terry material, which I worry will get itchy after a few washes. I also did not like the price point, which was ultimately what made me decide against it. This shirt was $88- a price I’ve never ever considered spending on a shirt before in my life! STATUS: sent back.
#5: The last item I tried on was the black cardigan from 41Hawthron. I was really hoping to like this because it was the most inexpensive item in the box! (ha!) But I just didn’t feel the cut looked good on me. It just wasn’t my style overall, besides the fact that I already have a lot of cardigans! STATUS: Sent back.
So, I only ended up keeping one thing from my box and I think that’s ok. I thought it was really fun getting the box and being surprised by all the items and trying them on! Overall, I wished I had received a little bit more unique pieces, something to challenge my style a little bit and branch out with new things.
After giving my feedback on this box, I am certain my next one will be different and I will like more of the items, so I’m really excited about that! I was also shocked by the prices of most of the items, they were just way more than I would usually ever spend on clothes, but maybe I am a cheapo! I think I will note that in my style profile as well so my next stylist can keep that in mind as well!
