Carter & I stopped by Starbucks before my eye appt! |
This weekend was the “big” Valentine’s Day weekend! What did you do to celebrate? On Friday I went back to the eye doctor to get my bandage lens removed and make sure my scratch had healed. I also got dilated so he could fully check out my eyes. Everything was all healed, but being dilated made for an interesting time trying to make dinner! I had to keep asking my husband to read me things and check to make sure the oven was preheated to the correct temperature. I zoomed in past “old lady” big on my computer screen so I could read my recipe!
Saturday we spent almost all day painting the kitchen and man does it look different! I’ll do some before and after shots later in one of my “house tour” posts! On Saturday night we went out for our Valentine’s meal! We got a babysitter and went out for drinks and then sushi! The sushi place was amazing and then we hit up our favorite dessert place! I’ll admit, my stomach hurt after eating all that food!
Sunday we went to HomeGoods (my new favorite store!) and got two new wall hangings! We finished the painting and (mostly) cleaned up the kitchen! I can’t wait to share the before and after shots!
What are you up to currently? Currently I am:
Thinking about: I am thinking about new activities I can do with Carter this week. He does like his sensory bins, but he also seems to be getting bored quicker with the rice ones! I am also thinking about where I saw the plans for a toddler stand thingy for the kitchen. If you know of it, please send me the link!
Reading: Not much! I read blogs and I am sort of reading a book called “You are Your Child’s First Teacher,” which I thought would be really interesting but it’s not. I have been trying to start on the third Game of Thrones book, but I just haven’t found the time (or mustered the energy!)
Listening to: I like listening to my “Todays Hits” station on Pandora! Especially when I’m cooking!
Watching: I’ve been watching the Today show, Bachelor and kids shows recently. Sometimes I’ll watch Ellen and then Friends in the afternoon, just depending on what’s going on!
Thankful for: Working heat! It’s been really really cold recently and I don’t know what I would do without it! Last week a lot of people up here lost power during one of the big storms, including one of my friends! I can’t imagine being stuck with no power and no heat during this kind of winter! (let alone all the other things you lose when the power goes out!)

This month’s super sponsor:
I'm on book four of Game of Thrones, and yes, it does require some energy to read! Every time I look at the Kindle and see how far I am and realize I'm just over HALF WAY after reading for SO LONG, it gets a little discouraging LOL:)
HomeGoods is my FAVORITE store! We have a TJ Maxx/Home Goods combined store just down the street from me and I have to use some serious self-control when I walk into that place. Which is usually weekly. haha I can't wait to see what you found!
And I have to get my eyes dilated in a couple weeks, so I know just what you mean. I have been putting it off for some time because if can be so debilitating as a mom to not have your eye site. Makes me grateful that I normally do.
Thanks for linking up with us! Loved reading what your up to!

Love fixing up a house.
Love Pandora Radio too. One of my favorite channels is Mozart's Lullaby. It's not all lullabies just pretty little songs you don't mind your children hearing!
I miss the Winters in the NE. But I don't envy ya'll this year.
I hope and pray your power stays on!
Blessings,
Emily
