3. “Let’s Get Dressed” is a book we got for Christmas and Carter loves it! It’s great for learning different clothes and wear they go on your body. We point to each body part and name it and the clothing that goes there as we flip through the book. It also has fun rhyming!
4. “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes…” is the song in book form. Sometimes we read it slowly and point to each part on our own bodies, sometimes we sing it and go through to book a little faster. Carter especially loves pointing to his nose and my nose, too!
5. “Jungle Gym: A Touch-and-Feel Counting Book” (not to be confused with Jungle Jim!) is a fun story about jungle animals who go to the gym to work out. It’s great for counting (1 hippo does push ups, 2 elephants ride bikes etc) and learning animals. It’s also fun for talking about animal sounds and colors, as well!
6. Last but not least is one of Carter’s absolute favorites- “Baby’s Box of Toys.” I have it memorized! Each toy is a different shape and each one is also a soft puffy touch and feel shape cut out. There are also a lot of things going on on each page to point to and talk about!
Carter has a ton of books so I try to rotate them around between his room and the living room play area. But, these six are ones that he always picks out to hear, especially before bed time!
