This week I came up with two very easy Easter themed activities to do with Carter. Both are retakes on previous activities we have done, just changed to an Easter theme! This was great because he already knew what to do and what to expect.
First up was a retake on our snow window activity! I cut out the sticky paper in an Easter egg shape and set up a tray with cut up paper and pom poms. I set it up during nap time so it was all ready when we came downstairs!
Getting started! We learned quickly that the pom poms really didn’t stick too well! I hope to find some colorful cotton balls sometime so we can do a few different activities with the sticky paper, because we know the cotton balls stick well!
Taking a little photo break!
I left the egg up overnight and he returned to it the next day to add more color strips!
Our second Easter activity this week was our Easter egg sensory bin! I colored the rice really dark green so it would look like grass. I thought about using Easter grass but I was nervous he would try to eat it!
As soon as I put the bin down, Carter ran over and grabbed his shovel and beach bucket! He is now an experienced sensory bin player!
hmmmm, what to do next?
Scooping it up!
shake, shake, shake! |
I showed Carter how to open the eggs and fill them with rice to make noise makers. He really loves noise makers when we go to story time and Gymboree so I knew these would be a success!
Here is how long each of these activities took:
Sticky Paper Easter Egg: 20 minutes and then again the next day. He also keeps going over to it on the window and trying to add stuff!
Easter Egg sensory bin: 30 minutes
Stay tuned! More toddler activity reviews to come including more Easter ideas and Passover activities! Do you have a
fun toddler activity you think I should try? I’m looking for ideas so
please let me know!
