1. How do you define your style?
My style is “Simple and Relaxed with a touch of glam”. I need to be able
to move freely in my clothes and feel comfortable, but I am constantly
looking for ways to add interest to my outfit.
2. What is your favorite outfit?
My favourite outfit at the moment is pictured- my navy tunic top and
skinny jean leggings with my navy flats. The top can be worn a few
different ways, the leggings are extremely comfortable, and my flats
make me smile with the cute bow on the front.
3. What store would you pick for an unlimited shopping spree?
I wold love to be able to shop in Max- a New Zealand store with tailored
clothes that fit me like a glove. Their signature 7/8 pants come in so
many colours and finishes, I would like a pair in every option! I always
find it harder to shop for pants than tops, so if I find some pants I
love I am usually tempted to buy them in each style.
4. How has your fashion changed since becoming a mom?
Since I have become a mom I am actually more
aware of how I look. I used to be 66lbs heavier and hide behind baggy
clothes, but since I have been at my goal weight for just over a year
since losing the pregnancy weight and I am finally realising that this
is my body. It has been fun to experiment with clothes now that I feel
more confident about myself, and my boys love to compliment my earrings!
I do make more of an effort because if I feel good about myself, I
start each day with a smile and that rubs off on my boys.
5. What advice would you give other moms on fashion?
I would really recommend investing in getting your colors done. I
dressed in the trends based on what I saw online and in magazines, when
really I shouldn’t be wearing red or too much black near my face.
Knowing which colors work for me has meant less time shopping, less time
standing in front of my wardrobe, and wiser purchases as I now know
what suits me.
6. Where does your fashion inspiration come from?
I love to go on Pinterest to see outfits that people have put together. I
also link up with a linky party called wardrobe Wednesday, where I can
get some great ideas from other bloggers. My sister is also great at
helping me go clothes shopping, since she can be brutally honest with me
and also push me out of my comfort zone.
7. Anything else you’d like to add?
As a Mom, I always feel better about my day when
I can put the best version of myself on display. If my hair is greasy
or I am wearing an outfit I don’t feel comfortable in, it can
reflect in my mannerisms and my children pick up on that. Taking the
time to choose clothes that flatter your figure and colourings, and
getting five minutes to yourself to get dressed and put on some lippy
can make a world of difference. I have only recently started to do this,
but I feel so much better about who I am as a mother,
wife and woman because I am investing time into myself. Plus, it is
always fun to see what comments I can get from my boys about what I am
