Last week I posted about my new sew quiet book. To save everyone from photo overload, I decided to divide this into two posts, and here is part 2!
If you missed part 1, click here!
The book I made is 10 pages long and part 1 was the first 5 pages. All the pages I made using a hot glue gun and no sewing was needed!
Race Car Page: This page was pretty simple and I hope to dress it up a bit sometime. I cut out a “road” and the race car is stuck on with velcro so it can be moved around the page. The house is just for decoration!
Color Matching Page: I kept it simple by making each color the same shape so it’s clear we are matching colors and not shapes on this page. Each square can be matched with it’s partner through velcro. Like I said in my previous post, I highly recommend hot gluing the velcro pieces down as well!
Animal Bead Counting Page: I saw a similar page on pinterest with smaller beads, and I kind of wish I had splurged on those because the animal beads are pretty chunky!
Beach Buddies 1-2-3-4 Page: This was one of my favorite pages because I loved the little beach animals! I actually bought them without a plan of how I would use them, but I decided to use them for a counting page after all! And, there are plenty of beach buddies left over for other projects!
Shapes matching page: Pretty strait forward- just match the shapes! For a younger kid like Carter, be sure to talk them through it and model how to match the shapes (this goes for the other matching pages as well!)
And that’s it for this book! Carter enjoyed playing with it on the airplane for a little while, but found other things to pass the time as well. I think I will try my hand at making more themed quiet books in the future so stay tuned! Maybe one for Halloween or Christmas or maybe an A-B-C’s book!
Here are a couple of shots of him playing with his quiet book on the airplane!
Have you ever made a quiet book? What was your favorite page to make?
