Recently we drove over to New Jersey for the Washington Lake Park Wine festival. The festival featured 16+ local wineries, food and live music! The park was huge and had sports fields, playgrounds and even an amphitheater.
Bring on the wine! Most of the wine was of a sweeter variety, which I guess is the norm for New Jersey wineries. There was a lot of moscato, sangrias and fruit wines. I really enjoyed the blueberry wines and the peach wines!
Everyone received a wine glass with their ticket as a souvenir (and for the tastings of course!)

Carter just loves playing with my camera and trying to take pictures. He has almost destroyed it a couple of times already so it may be a good time to get him his own kid friendly camera!
Unlimited wine samples? Cheers to that! Carter had just broken my regular sunglasses so I was stuck wearing my husbands old “sporty” sunglasses for the day! Not my normal sunglasses style of choice, but beggars can’t be choosers.
I was really happy with how family-friendly this event was. I didn’t expect that going in- it is an alcohol event after all! However, they had a bouncy house, face painting and kids crafts. Carter also really enjoyed the live music and clapped after ever song! Everyone seemed to know to bring chairs or blankets to sit on- thankfully I had thrown our picnic blanket in the car at the last minute so we were fine!
The food carts were pretty good and included BBQ, Cuban food and even a waffle truck!
Overall we enjoyed the wine festival, although the wine varieties weren’t something my husband enjoyed. If we go back next year we will be sure to be a little more prepared with chairs and our own food! The wine festival was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon!
