These gelatin shots are the perfect mix of red hot cinnamon and sweetness! They would be awesome for a fall party, but I made them for my 4th of July party using star shaped ice cube trays for a festive touch. Check out the recipe below!
For these shots you will need:
- 4 packets of Knox geletin
- red hot candies (1/4 cup)
- 1/4 cup of sugar
- 1 cup of cinnamon liquor
- cooking spray of choice
Mix the sugar, red hots and about 1 and 1/4 cups of water in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring frequently until both the red hots and sugar are completely dissolved. Once dissolved, remove from heat. Option: For a spicier variety, add a few extra red hots and less sugar! (or vice versa for sweeter).
Add the red hot mixture to the gelatin mixture and stir. Let it cool a few minutes and then add your cinnamon liquor! Pour carefully into your prepared trays. You could also pour it into a large pan and cut the shapes out later after it sets!
And that’s it! Red hot gelatin shots! You might have to shake them a little to get them out of the mold, or you can use a butter knife or your (clean) finger to coax them out!
Let me know if you end up making this recipe and what you think! Enjoy!
