You will need to collect 9 toilet paper rolls, or you can use paper towel rolls and cut them in half. You will also need: paint, stickers or other decorations for the rolls, glue, a flat piece of cardboard and red and yellow tissue paper.
The toilet paper rolls are the “candles” for your menorah. Let your kid paint and decorate each roll to their hearts desire!
I had Hanukkah themed stickers for Carter to use, but he was only interested in painting!
After all the paint is dry, glue your “candles” to the cardboard base.
After the glue is dry your menorah is ready! Cut up the tissue paper into strips and fold in half. Stick strips of tissue paper into each roll to make the flame for the candles. Each night of Hanukkah have your kids pull up the tissue paper one candle at a time!
There are 8 nights of Hanukkah, but Menorah's have 9 candles. This is because the extra candle, called the shamash, is lit first and used to light the other candles.Kids Homemade Menorah
