Many bloggers know the importance of adding a watermark to photos on your blog, but sometimes it can be hard to remember or to take the time to do it! It is so important to watermark or add your logo to claim those photos as your own and let the world know who took those awesome pics!
Here is an easy way to create your own water mark using PicMonkey. You create one watermark and can use it over and over on all your photos for a uniform look!
Go to PicMonkey (picmonkey.com) and choose the design function. Select the size you want, which really doesn’t matter too much because you will most likely be cropping it later.
In the basic edit mode select canvas color and choose the box that says “transparent canvas.”
Go to the text editor and chose your font. Type your blog name, real name or whatever you want your watermark to say! Chose the color you want. I selected black because I can then also fade it later if I want my watermark to be faded over my photos. White is also great for darker photos or brightly colored photos.
Alternately, you could create a logo to put on your photos as your watermark as shown here! It’s really up to you, get creative!
Important! Save your watermark/logo as a a png file. This will ensure that the background will stay transparent when you use your watermark later.
Now you’re ready to watermark! Upload the photo you want to watermark and do all your edits. Then go to the “overlays” editor and choose “your own.” Select your watermark from your files to add it as an overlay.
And there you go! You can move it around, change the size and fade it if you’d like!
Here is the photo I watermarked with this example. Easy, peasy! I hope you find this quick tip to be useful!
