Welcome to the third week of my Color Week series! We are learning one color per week by incorporating different activities focusing on one color at a time. So far we have covered red and yellow, and this week we covered blue!
One of the first blue activities we did was this blue paint tot tray. I set out a few different blue toys so Carter could try painting with something besides a brush, and he loved it! When I set up the tray and told him what we were doing he exclaimed “I love painting!”
I showed him how to use the “stamps” and he was excited to try each one out. He kept saying “stamp, stamp, stamp” every time and then “I did it!” when we was done with one.
After while he handed me a brush and asked me to paint, too! Painting was probably his favorite activity of the week and he was so proud of the “race car” that he painted!
Our next blue activity was an ocean life sensory bin with water beads! This is the first time we’ve used water beads in our sensory bins and they were a hit. He went back to this bin several times during the week. The water beads are so pretty and fun to play with! Be sure to plan ahead for this one because they take a couple of hours to fully fill up with water.
Next we did a blue bath time with blue shaving cream! To create the shaving cream just squirt it into a bin and mix in some food coloring! So simple and so fun to play with! I dyed the water blue with food coloring, but you can also use color dropz (crayola) and added some blue foam toys to play with as well!
