You know those moments. The time when your significant other calls from work and says they are bringing over their new boss. Or maybe friends call and say hey let’s meet up for dinner tonight, at your place! You glance around and realize that yes, the house is a little messy, after all, people do live here! You have ten minutes to tidy up this mess, but don’t worry you can do it with these quick cleaning tips!
First, gather your cleaning arsenal and pick the main rooms you want to tidy up. Which rooms will you guest be spending the most time in? For me its the living room, kitchen, dining room and of course the bathroom! Focus your ten minutes on those rooms and close the doors to your bedrooms! I’m using Clorox cleaning products to help with my quick clean up. Check out my before and after video and then read on for the tips!
When you only have ten minutes to clean up here’s what you can do!
The Pump’n’Clean comes in this fun dispenser, just use a paper towel, washcloth or sponge and push down to release the cleaner onto your cloth- just pump and go! You can use it on dishes, too, as it’s food safe. It’s just a really convenient cleaning supply to keep out on your counter top for quick clean up.
Next, I head into the living room for my quick clean up. I allot more time for this, 4 minutes, since there are ton of kid toys and books all around! First, clean up all the clutter. Throw toys, books and similar items into baskets or storage bins to quickly put away. You can pile up books or magazines on the coffee table to make it look a little more tidy. Put papers, chargers and other random things in another basket. I love baskets for quick cleaning! Quickly fluff and arrange the sofa pillows. Finally, do a quick dusting of all flat surfaces. For the dusting I use Clorox Triple Action Dust Wipes!
The wipes cling up dirt, pet hair and dust with one swipe. I used only one wipes for the whole room, and I could have done more! I even used it to wipe down the dust off the TV! The wipes are a little sticky feeling so the dust clings to them, but they are non abrasive so you can use them on any surface.
Head to the bathroom for the last 3 minutes of clean up. My bathroom was pretty messy, but so easy to clean up quickly! Clear off the counter tops of clutter such as toothpastes, makeup, hair brushes and in my case a potty cleaning chart! Fold your towels so they hang nicely on the towel racks. Then, use Clorox Scrub Singles to wipe down the sink and counter. You can even use them to clean the shower and toilet!
As you saw in the video above, Clorox Scrub Singles are super easy to use as they come pre-loaded with Clorox cleaner. You just wet the scrub, clean and toss it! It has two sides- a scrubby side and a soft side and it cleaned up all kinds of messes in my bathroom- toothpaste, soap scum, makeup and beard hair- yuck!
With this quick clean up your house with be tidy and shiny and your guests will have no idea it only took you 10 minutes!
