The first weekend of September was the Zurich Street Food Festival, which we hit up not once but twice that weekend! The festival was along the lake and was just a long row of food trucks and booths set up with all kinds of interesting foods to choose from!
Made me chuckle that they had a Brooklyn Brewery booth! The system for getting drinks was pretty interesting. You pay 2 CHF (Swiss Franks) extra for your drink as a “deposit” for the glass or bottle. Then, when you return it you get your money back! This way there’s less trash around, and they make sure to get back all their glasses. You got a little plastic coin with your drink and you had to turn the coin back in with your glass, too.
Carter had some chocolate covered popcorn.
I chowed down on some Bratwurst and Reisling!
We also tried these…for lack of better words, balls. They were called “Japanese street food” and were fried balls with either chicken, pork or edamame. They ran out of chicken when I ordered so I had half chicken and half edamame, and they were both pretty good! Best edamame balls in Zurich!
Andrew had a pork BBQ sandwhich.
The Chinese food booth was giving away panda masks for the kids (and some adults, too)!
Last but not least, I had some amazing fried fish on Sunday!
