This month I decided to participate in the Photo Blogging Challenge put on by PJ over at A ‘lil Hoohaa. The theme for October was “close up.” For most of my photos I did just that- I got very close up to take the photos and experimented with how different subjects would turn out. A few of the photos are just cropped for a closer up view of the subject. I’m sure you can tell which are cropped and which aren’t, but I still like them all!
1. A little bit of nature!
2. Out for a hike. I tried to get just the pollen for the close up but it wouldn’t focus on such a tiny item, so I instead had to focus on the leaf right behind it! So, it didn’t turn out exactly how I had planned, but I still really like this photo!
3. Chestnuts roasting at a fall festival. Believe it or not, I have never tried one of these! Honestly, I just stopped at the booth to take the photo!
4. S’more sundae with Snickers ice cream! (yum!) This was dessert at the restaurant Fork and Bottle in Zurich.
5. Swinging is serious business! It’s a little blurry but I just look the look of concentration
And those are my five photos for this month! If you have some close up photos to share, you can link up with PJ for the October Photo Challenge, too!

All your shots are brill. I love the chestnuts and the natural shot you took of the leaves in the wood during your hike.
It gave me a sense of autumn .

Holy cow, these are crazy good!!!! The second one especially blew me away. And the chestnuts are gorgeous!
Good Job! The colour you captured on the chestnuts is rich and delicious. In love and light Cheryle

Thanks for sharing. I think I really like the textures and colors in the chestnut photo the best.
Welcome to the photo blogging challenge group. You shared a great mix this month and the swinging photo sent me on a trip down memory lane. Thanks for that.
Welcome back to the challenge, Rachel! I hope with your new expat life you decide to join us each month! Anyway, I think you did awesome with this month's theme. The nature shots are excellent. The chestnuts are a cool shot. And, that S'more item… yum. And it's always good to have close ups of the little ones!
