If you’re looking for that perfectly “cutesy” French town to visit you should definitely check out Colmar, France! We took a day trip there when our friends came to visit for the week, and we loved it! It’s just around a one and a half hour drive from Zurich. We spent a good amount of time just walking around, taking in the sites and having lunch. Even without seeing any of the museums, wineries or other tourist spots we still had a great time just checking out the town!
And if you need more encouragement to go, here are 6 reasons to visit Colmar:
1. Because of this awesomely cute all-blue house.
2. Because of the Eglise des Dominains church, which was built in the 14th century and has a lovely park right next to it. I believe that it also has some nice architecture and artwork inside, however we did not go in this time.
3. Because of this hidden gem of a bakery, Maison Alsacienne de Biscuiterie. It is a walk up bakery with some really interesting cookie flavor choices (rose!) tucked away on this super cute street.
4. Because of the most picture worthy street ever, Rue des Boulangers. You’ll also find the above mentioned cookie shop here!
5. Because of the aptly named “La Petite Venise” area of town!
