Just in time for Easter we created these cute and fun to make Easter bunnies out of popsicle sticks! My son loved doing this craft and while he was painting his bunnies he kept talking about how fun it was and how good he is at painting! There’s very minimal prep work so you can have the craft ready to make in just a few minutes.
Materials needed: Popsicle sticks, white paint and paintbrushes, glue, pink paper, googly eyes and markers.
Prep the bunnies by gluing together the popsicle sticks. I used mini popsicle sticks for this craft, but you can use regular size ones as well! I used my hot glue gun* and did a strip of glue across one stick and then placed that over the line of 7 sticks to keep them together. Then, glue two sticks on the back to make the ears.
*I do recommend using the hot glue gun for this as it works quickly and the glue dries and sets fast so you’re ready to paint right away, rather than waiting for regular glue to dry! If you use regular glue then you might want to do the prep steps the night before.
Cut the pink paper to make the noses and pink part for the ears.
Once your glue is dry, get to work painting!
We just painted the fronts and sides, but if you want to be very thorough you can paint the back, too! Let the paint dry a little and then glue on the eyes, noses and pink strips for the ears. If you don’t have googly eyes you can make eyes out of black paper or just draw them on.
After the paint is fully dry, draw on the mouths and whiskers! Here are the four we made, can you guess which ones my son made and which ones I made?
Happy Easter!
