This month I am joining in again with PJ for his Photo Blogging Challenge. Every month I have intentions of participating and every month it seems to slips my mind. But, the August theme was black and white and I thought this would be an easy way to share some photos from our travels to Florida this month! So, I took some of my favorites and made them black and white!
Carter absolutely loves traveling and going on airplanes and to the airport. He really enjoys watching the planes and flying on the plane and getting drinks from the drink cart. As soon as he knows we are going on a trip he starts asking all the time if it’s time to go to the airplane, so I try not to tell him too far in advance when we go out of town!
In Florida we first went to my in-laws house and were able to enjoy several days on the beach and on the boat! We had fun playing in the sand, running from waves and catching crabs and sea snails!
Lately Carter has loved all things science, so my parents got him a science kit for his birthday. His favorite “experiment” is the volcano you put baking soda and vinegar in to make the volcano “erupt!”
For some time now, Carter has been talking (and talking) about going fishing. I think he saw it on Hobby Kids or something because we haven’t really talking much about fishing but he was really excited about going! So we took him to the lake at my aunt and uncles house and he got to catch a bunch of small brim, which was super exciting for him! (and yes, I added some color to this photo to make the fish stand out!)
Last but not least, what visit to Central Florida would be complete without a day at Disney? This isn’t your typical Disney picture, it’s in the bathroom. But, I just love the pure excitement and happiness in this picture! He was looking in the mirror and yelling “yah, we’re at Disney!!!”
So, there are my five photos for this month’s Photo Blogging Challenge and some fun snippets of what we were up to this month! For more on the challenge and to see the other participants photos, head over to PJ’s Blog for the link up!
Love your pictures and the glimpse into your vacation!
Very clever trick to leave the fish colored 🙂
One of Colin’s favorite things about a plane ride are the unlimited movies, and when he was younger, the beverage trolley as well. When he had a travel themed birthday party (I think it was when he turned 4) we used a small cabinet on wheels to recreate the drinks cart for his little friends, I mean passengers, it was the cutest thing.
I love the photo of Carter catching the fish. He looks ecstatic! Thank goodness for the summer holidays where we can get out of landlocked Switzerland and visit the sea! My daughter loves it so much.
oh these are adorable, and what a fun holiday. The fish one is very clever, I really must learn how to do that myself. Not fish, add colour that is!!
Very happy you could make it this month. Love the “Carter” version of the theme. Your last capture had me grinning from ear to ear!
OK these are CRAZY GOOD! WOW! What a great idea to use the trip as your black and whites! And he got a fish he got a fish he got a fish!!!!!!!
The airplane one is wonderful – you can see so much excitement in that single photo. Smiles all around!!!!
Such a sweet collection of photos. I’m fairly jealous about your trip. 🙂
These are great photos! You have quite the subject with Carter, he really showcases his excitement for things. And the fish, wow, I wish I could actually accomplish that correctly.
Carter is adorable!
Great job with the theme.
Glad to see you back in the USA for a brief visit.
YAY WE’RE AT DISNEY!!!!!!!!!!!! That’s definitely my nephew 🙂
Wonderful shots with Carter telling a photo story. I can sense his excitement as he enjoys his life and discovering new things. Hes done well to catch a fish!
Well Carter is just too cute for words and has made all your black and white photos even more special. I love the one with the fish but my absolute favourite is the one with the volcano – the expression on Carter’s face is priceless.
Excellent shots for the black and white challenge. I think what I love best about black and white is looking at the subject matter more because the color isn’t there to detract. These shots, no doubt, would have been excellent in either black and white or color. I like that first one, though. Tells a story.
These photos reminded me how, as our children grow up, one of the regrettable changes is how they begin to mask their emotions. At first it might be to hide their frustrations, hurt or sadness. But after a while it even spills over to mute their happiness. Seeing so the excitement and delight on Carson’s face, photo after photo, is a special thing. Enjoy these days.
