Riley is three months old now and getting so big! She has some serious cheeks and a bit of a belly and is gaining weight like a champ! This month was a big month of firsts including Christmas, Hanukkah and even her first plane ride!
Baby stats
Riley is up to over 13 pounds now! Since we don’t have a check up this month I don’t know her height, but we’ll get that at her four month check up in February. She’s in size two diapers and three month clothes. The diapers might be slightly too high still but the size ones were just too snug around her waist! She is taking about five bottles a day now, 6 ounces each.
Right before Christmas she started sleeping through the night all on her own! I was shocked the first morning when I woke up and realized she had slept though! She did that every night we were in Florida for the holidays except for new years eve (of course)! After coming home we’ve had a few off and a few nights on, so it seems like she’s not fully sleeping through yet!
Baby’s firsts
first time meeting Santa, not impressed
This was a big month for “baby’s first” everything! Riley had her first experiences with Hanukkah and Christmas. And although she obviously had no idea what was going on for either, it was fun getting her a few little presents and taking family pictures in our matching holiday PJs on Christmas morning! She slept through most of Christmas Eve dinner at my aunt and uncle’s house so everyone of course commented about how she was such a quiet and good baby!
Riley also had her first flights this month when we went down to Florida! She slept almost the whole flight down, which was amazing. She was asleep in my arms and when the engines revved up for take off her eyes popped open and she looked up at us like what the heck! Then, to my shock (and happiness) she closed them again and fell back asleep! The flight home she cried a little, but once she had her bottle she was fine.
rocking her Minnie Ears at Epcot!
Last but not least, she had her first trip to Disney! Since we went with our friends who work there Magic Kingdom was blacked out so we went to Epcot, which I love anyways! Epcot has a lot of space so it doesn’t feel as crowded as MK, although it was a close call since we were there on a busy holiday weekend! She did fine, though, and mostly just chilled in the stroller, slept through the rides and tolerated us putting a baby Minnie Mouse ears headband on her for the pictures!
So that’s month three in a nutshell! At the beginning of February she’ll have her four month check up so we’ll know her height and weight more precisely from the doctor. She’ll also get another round of shots at that appointment. I know I still need to do a post with her birth story, and I’ll do that soon!
