These fiesta margarita jello shots incorporate three layers, just like the ones at Epcot!
Welcome to the first recipe in my series, Jello Shots Around the World! I love Epcot and I really wanted to make some Disney inspired shots, so I thought I should make some based off my favorite drinks at Epcot. Then I figured, why not try to make one for every country in the World Showcase? And so, the Jello Shots Around the World project was born! The first installment for this project is the Fiesta Margarita Jello Shot.
Jello Shots Around the World: Fiesta Margarita
When you walk into the World Showcase at Epcot do you go left or right? I almost always go left, to Mexico, first and that’s where we’re kicking off our jello shots this week. The Mexico pavillian has several worthy drinks that could be made into shots! My favorite is the Fiesta Margarita.
This margarita is a frozen drink with three layers. You get strawberry, mango and traditional margarita layers to make up the whole drink. It’s very sweet and fruity and the flavors mix very nicely together. Because the colors are so light, the layers in my shots appear to blend together in the pictures, but that’s okay! Once you start drinking a fiesta margarita they kind of blend all toether anyways!
How to make Fiesta Margarita Jello Shots
For these shots I used a combination of regular jello and knox flavored with different juices. As with any shots using Knox gelatin, be sure to let it bloom for several minutes before heating it up! To make the layers as crisp as possible be sure to let each layer fully set before adding the next one. I like to wait at least two hours to make sure it’s fully set. The jello should be firm to the touch (not watery or mushy) and not stick to your finger.
Make the strawberry layer: Make the mango layer: Make the margarita layer: Serve and enjoy! *Alternate method for the mango layer: You can also prepare the mango layer using mango jello following the same directions as the strawberry layer. However, it can sometimes be hard to find in stores so I made the juice method as the originoalrecipe. You can find mango jello on Amazon and sometimes at Walmart (in store and online) As an Amazon Associate and member of other affiliate programs, I earn from qualifying purchases.Fiesta Margarita Jello Shots
