Homemade Superhero Lunchables

Superhero Lunchables

Welcome back to the Back-to-school month on Mini Chef Mondays! Bento box lunches continue to be a popular lunch for kids in school and to me they also make me think of the good old days when we begged our parents for lunchables in our lunch box. While the store bought kind may not prove to be the healthiest of lunches, it’s easy and fun to make them at home with your kids! I made our lunch a Superhero theme- Lunchvengers Assemble!

lunchable cut out cheese

We made hero shield wraps with tortillas, lunch meat and cheese.  Use a circle cookie cutter to cut the tortillas into small circles. Then use the one step smaller circle to cut the lunch meat into a smaller circles. Last, use a star cookie cutter to cut the cheese. Once assembled, the wraps look like shields! You can also throw in a packet of mustard if your kid likes it.

lunchables pow

For the fruit, I cut thin slices of cantaloupe and used letter cookie cutter to cut the word “pow” to go with our superhero theme! You could also cut other superhero words like “boom” “zoom,” etc! I cup up the excess cantaloupe into chunks to eat with the letters. I used a napkin so the letters would stand out, but you could also use another color of fruit under the letters to make them stand out, like green honeydew melon or grapes!

We also threw in some lightning bolt shaped pretzel sticks for good measure!  Enjoy!

What would you add to your superhero lunchable?
