I can’t believe it, Riley’s 8 months old! This month we’ve done a lot and had some visitors as well! She had several firsts, too! Riley doesn’t have a check up again until July for her 9 month appointment so we don’t have her updated weight and height exactly. According to our home scale she’s just about 18 ½ pounds. Riley is on the move and as you can see from the picture above does not want to hold still! I tried really hard to get the pictures to match the previous months with the bow and the unicorn stuffed animal but she just kept grabbing everything and rolling around!
Last month we headed to the Berkshires for Memorial Day weekend. We hit up the alpine coaster park at Jiminey Peak. Of course Riley isn’t big enough for that, but she did enjoy the day in the sunshine and watching her brother play at the park.
We also hit up the Boston Children’s Museum this month. They have a baby and toddler room which she was able to explore. She loved sitting inside this mirror box, but did not care for the water table at all! I’m learning that she is not much of a water baby, which should be interesting when we start swimming lessons this fall. This part of the museum is great for babies, especially those who can crawl and walk. Big kids are not allowed in unless they are siblings, which was really great for the babies.
She also had her first baseball game this month. We got tickets to a Red Sox game and we had an extra so she even got her own seat! I was a little nervous she would be scared by the loud noises but she didn’t seem mind at all. She just enjoyed sitting there and taking it all in. She even slept through a lot of the end of the game!
Baby Stats
She’s been eating all kinds of baby foods now, plus her bottles. She even got to try a little ice cream when we went to the ice cream shop at our picnic! She really doesn’t have any favorites yet, she’ll eat whatever food we give her. But, she does really love her teething crackers. Soon we’ll have to start her on finger foods, I’ve been nervous about that! She doesn’t have any teeth yet, but hopefully those will start popping up soon. Thankfully, she is still sleeping through the night. Whew! She almost crawling, too. She can crawl backwards and kind of slides herself sideways, but not forward yet.
Happy 8 months Riley!
