Rileys is 11 Months Old!

Riley is now 11 months old! For those keeping track, because I know you are, yes I missed updating month 10 on here! We did a lot of stuff this summer and I kept meaning to take the picture and do the write up, but it just kept getting away from me and then it was September! I guess that’s the way it goes with second baby sometimes!

Baby Adventures

This month we were in Florida visiting family and friends for the first half of the month! We did the beach, Disney and plenty of stuff around town with our families! Riley went on the swings at the park across the street from where I grew up in Orlando and she loved it! She was smiling and giggling the whole time!

She also had her second Disney visit (first was over Christmas time!) which was fun! We did Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom and she actually seemed to enjoy the rides we went on and looking around at all the stuff in the parks.

Riley had her first boat ride this month, too! She was nervous at first, but once we got going she loved it! She generally seems pretty chill about trying new things and taking it all in. She really seems to love sitting on the beach and playing in (and eating!) the sand. She’s starting to like playing in the water more and learning to splash around, which she really wasn’t so into before!

Baby Stats

Riley weighs about 20 pounds this month. I don’t have an official weight from the doctor since she didn’t have a check up this month. So, I just use our scale at home to estimate. She’ll have her one year check up in October and we’ll get official stats then! Riley’s wearing size 3 diapers. The diaper sizes seem off to me because the size 3’s seem small to me but the weight range goes up to 28 pounds! Maybe they’re just right and I was buying too big of a diaper before? She’s wearing about 9-12 months size clothes now. Although I’m trying to make the most of her summer clothes so some of her stuff is still size 6-9 months! I went a little crazy buying her fall clothes in size 12 months but most of those are still a tad too baggy.

Riley is saying a lot of words, none of which make sense to us! She loves to say “bop” and “mo” (for more) and can also do the sign for “more.” Most of it is just babbling, of course, but once and awhile she’ll say something so clearly it makes us wonder! Sometimes she’ll try to mimic what we say and get it almost right.

These monthly photos are getting harder and harder to take! She definitely doesn’t want to hold still anymore! She thought the bow was a toy and just wanted to crawl around and wave it around. I had to lay her down next to the bow and take the picture quick!

Riley’s standing with ease now and cruising along the couch and coffee table! She likes to stand up and look around, but hasn’t taken any steps yet. I think before long she’ll be walking, maybe even by her first birthday. She crawls super fast though, so maybe she doesn’t see any reason to try to walk yet! She can also climb up the stairs so we’ve had to put up tons of baby gates all around the house. Her favorite activities are trying to sneak away to eat the dogs food and climb the stairs when the gate isn’t up!

Next month is her birthday so now I’ve gotta think about what to do for that! I’m also debating if I should keep doing these updates after her 1 year mark, what do you think?
