Two weekends ago we decided to go to Longwood Gardens for a last “hurrah” before our membership expired. It was a nice fall day and just starting to feel cool- I even wore a light jacket!
Carter and daddy watching the models trains! After that Carter wanted to play in the fountain with the other kids so we let him put his hands even, but the water was freezing! He didn’t seem to mind or notice, though!
Carter and daddy took a walk through the topiary gardens.
Working it for the camera!
Carter and me at the waterfall! He was actually a little nervous at first to go too close!
I look several “nature” pictures at the gardens, but this one is my favorite.
Have you ever visited Longwood Gardens?
This month’s super sponsor:

Linking up here and here today!
I've been there several times as my parents are also members. My mom is a green-thumb and as such LOVES it there. The Christmas display is a-w-e-s-o-m-e and we loved the gingerbread hot cocoa/cookies they were giving out. 🙂 We also went for the fireworks displays they do a couple times as well.
I never go to LWG in the spring or summer, so I rarely get to walk on the grounds because it's too cold! I should go and do that next year.
I went on a really awkward date there once… in high school… and his parents were there
The picture of the two of them walking through the field is awesome. I also love the flowers! Thanks for linking! <3
Lovely pictures! 🙂
This is my first time linking up and it's been fun to see what's going on in other areas of the northeast. These are all fun photos and as drawn as I am to your son mugging for the camera, I actually like the one just above that one. Watching him run towards the topiary gardens with his father close behind is so evocative. Really fun set of photos.
It looks like you had a great time there. Of course I've never been there. It would be a very long trip from England 🙂
I love the name of your blog! Found you from PJ's September photo challenge over at A 'lil Hoohaa. This looks like a great day! Your little man is adorable.
That's got to be the cutest little kid. Looks like he had a lot if fun. Nice pics.
I love the five photos — definitely outdoors. And the flower one — those photos pop!
Errr… colors pop… 🙂
What a beautiful little boy. 🙂 Your photos are lovely, and full of joy.
Thanks for linking to PJ's monthly photo challenge. I seem to consistently prefer nature shots, so the flowers are my favourite. But I also enjoyed how you chronicled your family's visit to such a beautiful spot. One of my sons refuses to pose and the other one is very reluctant, so keep making the most of the window between now and the teenage years, when they seem to be less cooperative when it comes to filling the pages of the family photo album (or family blog, as the case may be).
Over 12 years ago, I was lucky enough to visit Longwood Gardens while on a whirlwind weekend visit to Philadelphia. It is an experience I shall not forget. Looks like the miniature train exhibit is quite interesting based upon your son's rapt attention to it.
I love that your little one looks like my first born… And loves trains like mine did! Every time he heard the whistle we had to jump in the car and fly two streets down to wave at the engineer. :D. Wonderful pix!
