I decided to create a chore chart of “chores” he can do easily. I plan to use to talk about chores and let him put a sticker on it each time he completes one of the items on the chart! The chores I picked are:
Brush Teeth: something he should do everyday anyways! But its a good reminder by getting rewarded for it with a sticker, and will help set good habits for the future!
Laundry: Carter loves helping carry laundry over to the machine with me and he helps me transfer it from the washer to the dryer! I hand him clean clothes from the washer and he puts them into the dryer and then closes the door when we’re done!
Pick up toys: Carter enjoys putting things into containers, so why not have him help clean up a little by putting his toys away into their baskets?
Dust or wipe spills: He loves wiping the table or floor with a rag or even a baby wipe. I also have him help wipe up spills he makes such as when he knocks over the dog’s water dish!
Sweep or vacuum: You might think this one sounds mean, but Carter actually really love playing with the broom and mini vacuum cleaner! He copies what I do and even gets down under the chairs to vacuum! Not only is it very cute, but useful, too!
Something else I could add would be helping with dishes. A lot of people have their toddler help them unload the dishwasher, but it makes me nervous to have him hand me up breakable dishes so I’m not ready to add that chore yet!
Here is the chart I made:
Just for fun I made generic ones to share with you guys, too! I made a “boy” one and a “girl” one! Feel free to download and use for your own personal use! Please do not distribute my printable or try to pass them off as your own creation!
And, if you want a more customized chore chart for your tot, please let me know and we can work something out!
