We have a lot of windows and I love using window clings to decorate because they are at the perfect height for my son to see them! These window clings are really easy to make and once you’ve figured out how to do it you can make custom window (or mirror!) clings for any holiday or just daily decorations!
All you need is:
- wax paper (or other non-porous surface)
- puffy paint colors of choice!
For this craft I used glow in the dark puffy paint for some Halloween fun! Draw your pictures on the wax paper using thick lines. You want to use thick lines so it doesn’t fall apart when you peel it off. Make sure all the parts are connected so it peels off as one piece!
I made mine Halloween themed and at the last minute added the glow in the dark face to the spider! Allow them to dry at least four hours, I let mine dry overnight just to be sure! The thicker the design, the longer it needs to dry. After they are dry, carefully peel them off the wax paper and they are ready to use!
I put the “boo” and the ghost on the guest bathroom mirror to surprise people when they come into the bathroom! I did find that it helped the clings stick to sprinkle just a little water on the back.
Here is what it looks like in the dark! Sorry for the blurry picture, photos don’t always come out right without light! But, yes, it really does glow in the dark!
Let me know if you try this out! What are some other things you would make with this craft? I’ve seen snowflakes, mustaches, hats and more!
