Today is another snow day here in Eastern PA. While we all wish winter would come to a quicker end, instead of despair I am trying to enjoy this snow day and find fun things to do with my son!
Last time we had a big snow day we had some fun doing snow painting! Snow painting is so easy to set up and a great way to get outside and play in the snow! All you need are various bottles- squirt bottles, spray bottles, even empty shampoo bottles would work! Fill with water and food coloring and shake a little to mix the color in with the water.
Easy as that, you have some “snow paint!” We set up our painting canvas at the table on back deck because I thought it would be better to stand on a clean chair rather than in a pile of snow!
Carter had a blast squirting and spraying the paint to make his masterpiece!
He also asked me to paint something and requested a train. I’m no artist, but it’s close enough!
Have you tried snow painting? What’s your favorite snow day activity?
If you liked this activity, check out some of my other snow themed posts!

We've done this! The kids love it! We also tried the one where you fill the balloon with water and for coloring and leave them out in the snow to freeze. When you cut the balloon away, they look like giant colored marbles in the snow! So cool!
Cute idea! I wish i had a spray bottle to do this.
That's fun! I'd have never thought to do that.
How fun! Pinned.
My friend in Philly was just moaning yesterday. Her kids (9-15) were pushing her buttons big time. I suggested snow shoveling, but snow painting looks much more enjoyable.
