Above is step 1, but the actual step 1 (or pre-step I guess) is to purchase a gold foil digital scrapbook paper file. You can find this easily on Etsy, just search for gold foil scrapbook paper. I found mine for .99 for both gold and silver papers. You just buy it, download and save it to your computer to use as you wish!
Step 1: go to PicMonkey and choose the design feature. Chose the size and shape you want. For canvas color select white. Then, type up your quote or graphics you want to use. Make sure everything is the color black.
Step 4: The overlay will show up over your text like this. Position it over the text, making sure all the text it covered with the gold foil!
Step 5: Make sure your gold foil graphic is still selected. In the overlay editor click on the blend mode drop down menu. Here you have two options that will work, so play around with both and see which one you like better with your print. You can choose “Hardlight” or “Lighten.” See which one you like better, both will cause the gold foil to show up as if it is behind the text, thus giving you a gold foil look!
Save as a png file and you’re done! Ta-da!
Here is my final product:

Not a fan of gold foil? No problem! You can use this method with any digital scrapbook paper to customize your text, or even use a photo you took as the background- a field of flowers or a shot of the beach would look brilliant behind a nice quote about summer!
