This year at Epcot they added something new to the world showcase for the holidays, a cookie passport! Along with the holiday food and drink they usually have at the holiday kitchen kiosks they added special holiday themed cookies! We went to Epcot on the last day of the holiday festival so we were able to take in all the holiday fun as well as try out the cookie passport for ourselves.
Doing the cookie passport is super easy! You just grab one of the guide books for the holiday festival and flip it open to the back. You’ll see all the info there and the spots to get your cookie stamps. Just make sure to remember to ask you for your stamps when you buy the cookies so you can save up for the free one! This year the cookies were $2 each. After you get five stamps you get the free cookie.
HINT: It’s one stamp per cookie so you can buy two or more of the same cookie you especially like, or five of one cookie even! In other words, you don’t have to buy all five different cookies to get the five stamps. If there’s one you aren’t excited about just skip it and get two somewhere else!
The Cookies:
Canada
To mix it up, this time we started our world showcase walk in Canada and got our first cookie at the holiday kitchen there! (We almost always start in Mexico so it basically felt like were walking backwards the whole time!) At the Yukon Holiday Kitchen we got the first cookie, the Gold Chocolate Chip Cookie. This was a good choice to start with because, despite being pretty simple, it was yummy! Just a chocolate chip cookie with chocolate icing drizzled on and gold snowflake sprinkles. This was probably the smallest of the cookies we got, and I wish I had gotten two since we were all sharing!
L’Chaim Holiday Kitchen
After a quick pit stop in France for wine, our next cookie stop was at the new L’Chaim Holiday Kitchen, which was located between Morocco and France. This kiosk was brand new this year and features “Jewish” food, which roughly translated meant deli sandwiches, matzo ball soup and Brooklyn Brewery Beer. Here we tried their version of a black and white cookie, which was interesting. It wasn’t exactly like you’d a get at a deli in New York, not super authentic. The cookie was spongy in all the wrong ways and the icing was runny. The only redeeming quality was that the icing tasted good, which made the cookie okay but still not what you’d consider an actual black and white.
America
Our next cookie stop with at the America Holiday Kitchen for a basic sugar cookie. This sugar cookie was topped with vanilla icing and Christmas sprinkles, but was actually really tasty!
Germany
After hitting up the America pavilion be sure to stop in Italy for some nice Italian wine, or an Italian margarita! Then head on to the next cookie stop! Last on our cookie walk was a stop in the Bavaria Holiday Kitchen in Germany. The cookie at this stop was the peppermint sugar cookie, which was my favorite of the bunch! The cookie itself is a basic sugar cookie but the icing was peppermint flavored and covered with little candy cane shaped sprinkles! You can see I took a little bite before remembering to snap the picture, whoops!
The actual last stop on the cookie walk is in Mexico. We ended up skipping that one, because we had already filled our cookie passport up and decided we didn’t need more sugar. The cookie in Mexico was a red and green chocolate chip cookie.
After we filled up the cookie passport we headed over to get the complimentary extra cookie! The mickey shaped cookie was cute, but not very tasty. The ears were dipped in a darker chocolate, which I don’t really like. But the cookie itself was very bland, so overall not a good combination. But, at least this one was the free one! I do wonder if maybe we got the “leftovers” since it was the last day of the event. Nevertheless, the cookie passport was fun and my 6 year old especially liked it! If we go again during the holidays I would definitely do this again!
Have you done the cookie passport at Epcot? What did you think? Need more info- let me know your questions in the comments!
