How to Make Hocus Pocus Jello Shots
These shots use three layers to represent the three witches from the Hocus Pocus movies. Purple for Sarah, green for Winifred and red for Mary. Then I added Halloween themed sprinkles on top to give it a little extra festive touch! Besides the colors, the rest of the flavor choices are up to you!
- For the alcohol: For basic jello shots I prefer to use whipped cream vodka. You could also use vanilla, plain or any fruit flavor that you feel compliments the flavors of the jello. Strawberry vodka would work well, here, too.
- Colors: For the purple I used grape. You could also try Skittles wild berry gelatin, which they sell at Wal-Mart. For the green, lime is the easilest choice. You could also use green apple, which you can find on amazon or in Wal-Mart- jolly rancher or sonic brand. Last, for the red I used strawberry, but there’s plenty of red choices including cherry and raspberry, too!
- Topping: I used basic whipped cream and Halloween sprinkle mix for my topping! Remember to add the toppings right before serving so the whipped cream doesn’t melt.

Tips for Making Layered Jello Shots
The main tip for making layered shots is to make sure you leave plenty of time for each layer to set! A normal 2-ounce shot takes about four hours to set, so for the smaller layers you should only need 1-2 hours for each. You can check that the layers are set by touching them lightly; if they’re still liquid or stick to your finger then it’s not set. When they’re set the jello will be firm and sticky, but not come off on your finger. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to make the shots before your party!
