Key Lime Pie Jello Shots

Key lime pie jello shots were inspired by one of my all time favorite desserts. Key lime pie! When we were in the Keys a few years ago we had plenty of key lime cocktails, so I thought why not turn this favorite dessert and drink into another favorite, a jello shot!

I like to make my jello shots with two things in mind. First, keep it simple and, second, keep it delicious. I try to come up with flavor combinations that work well together, while not making it too complicated! For this recipe, all you need is lime Jell-o (or store brand geletin), vodka and cool whip! I used whipped cream flavor vodka and a little cool whip to the lime jello a creamy, pie like taste.

You can also add the garnish to give it some extra pizzazz! I used graham cracker crumbs for the garnish, to represent the yummy graham cracker crust of Key Lime pie. Add some whipped cream and you’re all set!

Key Lime Pie Jello Shots

Yield: 10 shots

Ingredients

• 1 cup water
• 1 cup whipped cream vodka
• 1 box of lime jello
• 1/2 cup cool whip, thawed

For the garnish:

• graham cracker crumbs
• sweetened lime juice, such as Roses
• whipped cream

Instructions

1. Bring the water to a boil. In a large bowl, mix 1 cup hot water with the lime jello powder until fully dissolved.
2. Stir in vodka and cool whip.
3. Divide mixture into shot glasses.
4. Transfer to fridge to set, at least three hours.
5. Put a little lime juice in a shallow dish and graham cracker crumbs into another. Dip each shot glass into a little juice and then into the graham crackers. Top with whipped cream.
