Riley is 7 Months Old!

Riley is now seven months old! This month she’s started doing a lot more stuff and having more of a personality! She is trying so hard to move around by rolling and scooting backwards. We are still working on going forward! She can also almost sit up by herself for long periods of time. Of course, she still loves smiling all the time and going new places!

I love this picture so much because it’s such a perfect “little sister” picture. At this moment, Carter was throwing a major tantrum about screen time. And she’s just sitting there all chill, looking on judgmentally.

This month she has a lot of firsts, including her first push pop! She’s really started looking interested in whatever Carter is doing and wanting to join in. He had a popsicle so she wanted something to eat, too. So I let her have a few bites of this all fruit push pop and she loved it! She also loves to eat frozen baby food in her mesh teether, yogurt and her teething crackers. Basically any food we give her now she will try and she gets upset if you’re eating and don’t share with her.

Baby Stats

Since we didn’t have a check up this month I don’t know her exact stats. I’m guessing based on our scale at home she is just over 16 pounds. She is in size 6 month clothes and we’ve moved up to size three diapers! So far her hair color is still reddish brown, especially in photos! Her eyes are still deciding what color to be! Sometimes they look blue, sometimes green, depending on what she’s wearing and the lighting. They have yet to look brown at all, but we’ll see! Carter’s eyes starting turning brown around 9 months.

I almost hate to write this an jinx it, but she seems to be sleeping through the night now! Sometimes she’ll wake up a cry for a second while she gets readjusted, and then she’ll go back to sleep. A few nights I’ve had to go in there to help her relax, but I stopped giving her bottles overnight so she’s able to get back to sleep without depending on food. Hopefully this trend continues!

Baby Adventures

This month she had a big adventure! We went on a cruise so she had her first cruise and her first international trip! This wasn’t her first flight, since we went to Florida for Christmas, and she did pretty good on the plane. We had a layover on both our flights and she was pretty chill about the whole thing, as you can see from the picture above! She’s usually pretty chill when we’re out places because she loves seeing new things and people.

For the cruise we specifically made sure to find a ship that had nursery care available. She loved all the nursery workers and fun playing in there with them! We did some excursions that weren’t exactly baby friendly, so it was great to have the care available on the ship!

She also had fun hanging out on the pool deck with us and enjoyed all the servers fawning over her at dinner! On the other hand, she wasn’t sure a fan of the baby pool. To be fair, the water was a little cool, so that could be why! We’ll see how she does this summer in our pool at home.

Riley still likes to stick her tongue out when she smiles! She even does it now when I say cheese to take a picture. This month it’ll hopefully warm up at home so we can hang out outside more!

Happy 7 months Riley!
