This has been a big month for Riley! She had a lot of firsts in June and we also took a big beach trip for the week of Fourth of July. At her 9 month check up she got one shot, which she took like a champ. She didn’t even flinch, let alone cry! She is weighing in at about 18 pounds 14 ounces now and has lots of cute baby rolls to prove it. She is about 45% for height at 27 ¼ inches. She is in 9 months clothes and can also wear 9-12 month size, depending on the brand (she can also squeeze into 6-9 month sizes!).
Baby’s Firsts
This month Riley finally got her first tooth! She’s also sitting up like a champ and started crawling! This pretty much happened overnight, one day she couldn’t crawl and the next day she was racing around the house. For awhile she could move around by pushing backwards, but now she can finally crawl forward all around.
Baby’s Adventures
This month we went to Saint Simon’s Island in Georgia for vacation with some friends. It wasn’t her first time at the beach, since we had gone in Florida in December. But, it was her first time awake and able to actually play on the beach! She had a lot of fun playing in the sand (and eating it), sitting the ocean with us and going in the pool at the rental. We also went to the water park on Jekyll Island and she enjoyed the lazy river and the kids splash pool there!
Riley also made a new friend on vacation with our friend’s son, Grayson! They played together a lot and learned all about sharing! We got them matching outfits and it was oh-so-cute! Right after this picture she pushed him over in the face, so I guess she didn’t care for his hand being on her leg!
We’ve been having a great summer and Riley will very soon be 10 months old! I’ve let this update get a little late so she’s well into 9 months now. She’s now been alive longer than I was pregnant, how crazy is that?! This month we’ll be heading to Florida to visit family and get in some more beach time (and Disney!) before school starts at the end of August.
