We made it! Riley is officially one year old! This year has really gone by in a flash like you wouldn’t believe. I can barely even remember her first month and the long nights without sleep! Riley is full of energy and happiness! She loves dancing, dogs playing with her brothers hot wheels cars and cheerios.
Riley loves to stick her tongue out when she smiles. She doesn’t always do it, but when we take pictures so thinks it what you’re supposed to do. Probably because big brother does it, and she loves to copy him! She also loves going on the swings at the playground! She will just smile and laugh the whole time.
Baby Stats
Riley is almost 20 pounds and is 28 inches. She’s about to grow out of her car seat so we’ll have to get a new one soon! She didn’t grow a lot in height this checkup so she dropped down on her percentile graph, but the doctor said not to worry about it. She’s in size 3 diapers, which basically I feel like will be the size for a long time since they go up to 28 pounds or something! She wears size 12 months clothes.
Riley is cruising like a champ and can crawl super fast! She can walk while holding our hands or pushing her walker toys. She likes to “talk” a lot and says more, dada and mom! She says a lot of other stuff, too, we just can’t understand it yet! She is now drinking regular milk and eating all kinds of foods! Her favorites seem to be the baby puffs, cheerios, bananas and meat. She loves deli meat and I also cook up ground meats to give her such as turkey and chicken!
Baby Adventures
This month we’ve done a lot of stuff at home and around town because of Carter starting back at school. Riley went to her first concert this month, which was also a laser light show! We’ve also been to a couple of fall festivals at various farms, hay rides and even an air show! She’s also been to a lot of her brother’s soccer games and other activities. But, she loves getting out and seeing people and places!
This will probably be my last update on Riley in this format. Once a month just doesn’t seem to make sense after the first year and the older she gets, the harder it’s been to keep up with! I might still do baby updates once and awhile, but not on a monthly basis. If you follow me on Instagram you’re sure to see plenty of pictures and updates there!
