What better time to make Margarita Jello Shots than Cinco de Mayo? Margarita jello shots would be perfect for Cinco de Mayo, Taco Tuesday or any celebration, really! I made these with fresh lime juice, tequila and triple sec for a delicious margarita flavor!
Because the lime juice flavor is so strong I add some water, too. I used the juice from six limes and filled the rest with water to make a cup total. You can also use limeade if you prefer! It would be sweeter and, of course, easier to do! I also added a little sugar so they wouldn’t be too sour.
To serve I used regular 2-ounce shot cups. But, if you do juice your own limes you could use the lime halves to hold your shots as well! If you do this, you’ll need to scoop out the limes to make room for the jello. I found this to be a little tedious and time consuming so I chose to just make them in shot cups instead. Place the halves into muffin tin or similar so they stay upright when you fill them!
Fresh squeezed limes, tequila and triple sec make these shots a hit! Make green sugar by mixing a couple of tablespoons of sugar with a drop or two of green food coloring. I used a plastic container with a tight lid and shook it to mix it up! In a separate small bowl add a couple of tablespoons of Roses lime juice. Dip each shot glass in the roses to coat the rim, and then into the sugar. As an Amazon Associate and member of other affiliate programs, I earn from qualifying purchases.Margarita Jello Shots
