These playful, colorful treats combine the nostalgic fun of conversation heart candies with the exciting flavors of Jello shots, making them a standout addition to any Valentine’s Day celebration!

Conversation hearts Jello shots are a fun and boozy take on the iconic heart-shaped candies that flood the stores each February. Made from flavored gelatin and your choice of alcohol, these Jello shots are infused with the spirit of Valentine’s Day! The best part? They come in bright, colors and the sweet, flavors you know and love, mimicking the classic conversation hearts that have been a symbol of love for generations.

Customization is Key
One of the best things about conversation heart Jello shots is how easy they are to customize. You can play around with different Jello flavors and colors to suit your theme or personal preferences. You could make a few different colors to give the effect of an actual box of conversation hearts, or just stick with classic red and pink!
Another way to customize is by switching up the messages you write on each heart. You can keep them simple and similar to the hearts you find in the candy boxes. Or, you could make them personalized for your significant other! You could even make them a little risqué, for their eyes only!

How to make Conversation Hearts Jello Shots
- For the jello: Red and pink are known as the typical Valentines Day colors, so I go with a flavor that matches that vibe! You could also make several batches of various colors and mix them up to mimic the candies.
- For the alcohol: For my shots I like to use whipped cream flavored vodka. You could also use vanilla flavored or plain. Strawberry flavored would be nice with these shots as well.
- For the shape: I used the same size heart cookie cutter for these shots. You could also make various sizes if you have multiple sized cookie cutters! Here is a nice set with various sizes from amazon. (affiliate link)
Conversation Hearts Jello Shots
Ingredients
- 1 box red or pink jello (3 ounce)
- 1 packet knox gelatin
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup vodka
Supplies
- 8x8 pan
- heart shaped cookie cutters
- food safe edible markers
- cooking spray (optional)
Instructions
- Lightly spray pan with cooking spray. I like to spray and then wipe in with a paper towel so it's just a slight coating and doesn't get too much on the shots. This step is optional, but it does help the jello release from the pan a little easier!
- Bring 1 cup water to a boil. In a small mixing bowl mix together jello and knox powder. Add 1 cup boiling water and stir until fully dissolved.
- Add 1 cup vodka to the mixture and stir.
- Pour mixture into prepared 8x8 pan. Transfer to fridge to set- about 4 hours.
- Once set, use heart shaped cookie cutters to cut out the shots to make the conversation hearts. Use a food safe marker to write your messages on the hearts!
- Serve and enjoy!
Notes
There will be leftover jello from the pan after you cut out the hearts. You can use this to make other shapes or just scoop it into shot cups to serve as regular jello shots. Or just discard if you want.
