In case you didn’t notice, it’s fall!!!!! Or as some of my fellow bloggers like to say “its fall ya’ll” This is my obligatory “its fall” post.
This fall I have already done a corn maze, drank hot apple cider and seen the leaves start to change! We also went to the pumpkin festival at the apple orchard last weekend, too! We are very “fall” around here! I haven’t worn boots yet, but I am not a person to switch from sandals until I absolutely have to. I probably wont be decorating much, because we moving at the end of this month, but don’t worry, Thanksgiving and Christmas decorations will be in full force at our new house!
One thing I will not be doing this fall? Drinking pumpkin spice lattes. Yuck! The other day my husband and I were discussing our Thanksgiving menu. I told him I was going to make some cookies and an apple pie for dessert. And he said “oh good, I hate pumpkin pie.” Last year I made a pumpkin, gingerbread trifle, it was super pretty, but pretty gross. Everyone ate is graciously and said they liked it but did they really? I don’t think so.

Does anyone really, I mean really actually truly LIKE pumpkin pie? If you do, good for you. But the conclusion we came up with is that everyone makes it for Thanksgiving because you’re “supposed to,” but no one actually really enjoys it. It’s like a one a year tradition that you just do, just because. So this year, and forever more, I will not be making pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving, I will be making something I know that I, and everyone else who comes over for dinner, will enjoy!
What do you think? Do you like pumpkin pie? I will say, I had some pumpkin butter the other day and it was pretty dang good!
