It’s almost fall and what better way to celebrate with some fall flavors?! Cinnamon is one of my favorite flavors, I love it in coffee, desserts and, of course, my favorite guilty pleasure breakfast- cinnamon buns! These cinnamon bun jello shots taste just like the real thing. They are super simple to make, but pack a punch of flavor!
These shots are the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. You won’t feel the burn of the cinnamon whiskey because the sweetness of the cream soda is there to balance it out!
Tips for Making Cinnamon Bun Jello Shots
These shots use Knox gelatin to set. When using gelatin it’s important to let is bloom before mixing or it won’t set properly. To do this be sure to spread the gelatin powder over the top of the liquid so that it’s all touching liquid and the gelatin can get filled up with moisture. It should look “plump” with liquid and wet, not dry.
These shots all use soda as one of the main ingredients. As you can see from my photos, this can sometimes cause bubbles to form at the top of the shots. This doesn’t really bother me, but if it bothers you, you can always pop the bubbles with a spoon or fork before transferring the shots to the fridge to set!
The perfect balance of sweet and spice, these shots taste just like your favorite cinnamon bun! Working with soda usually causes bubbles to form on the top of the shots. If this bothers you, you can try popping the bubbles with your spoon or whisk before the shots set. For added sweetness you could also add a dollop of whipped cream to each shot before serving!
