If you’re looking to add something extra to your Halloween party, look no further than dirt pudding jello shots! This fun twist on a classic dessert combines creamy layers of chocolate pudding, crunchy cookie crumbles, and vibrant jello for a playful, eye-catching treat. Perfect for any Halloween gathering, these jello shots are not only delicious but also a conversation starter.
These layered shots are so easy to make and you can customize them with your favorite jello flavor! I topped them with mini sour gummy worms and sour zombies to add to the “dirt” feeling. You could also use gummy spiders or any spooky gummies you find!
How to make Dirt Pudding Jello Shots
This shot has two layers, plus the cookie crumble “dirt” topping. Be sure to allow the jello layer to set before you add the pudding layer.
- For the jello: I used black cherry jello for these shots because it is a nice dark color jello. Obviously, you can use whichever flavor you want, but make sure the flavor you chose goes well with chocolate!
- For the alcohol: I used whipped cream vodka for these shots. You can also use vanilla vodka or just regular unflavored vodka.
- For the pudding: There are a few options here! You can just use pre-made pudding cups and scoop it on top. Or, you can make chocolate pudding from the box mix and use that. Last, you can make pudding shots using chocolate pudding for a little extra alcohol in your shot! I have a recipe for the pudding shots here! If you make this recipe you will have a little extra pudding to enjoy as well!
- For the topping: To make the dirt topping simply crush up oreos (or similar sandwich cookies) and spread it on top of the pudding. I used a small food processer to get the cookies cumbles really small so they look even more like dirt. Then, top with gummies and other spooky decorations! I found the zombie hand toothpicks in the dollar spot at Target and there are several similar options on amazon as well!
Dirt Pudding Jello Shots
Ingredients
- 1 box black cherry jello (3 ounce)
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup vodka (whipped cream flavor)
- chocolate pudding
- 5-6 oreos
- mini gummy worms or other candies to decorate
Instructions
- Mix 1 cup boiling water with jello, stir well until combined.
- Mix in 1 cup vodka.
- Divide mixture into 2 ounce shot cups, filling each out about 2/3 of the way.
- Transfer to fridge to set, about 4 hours
- Meanwhile, make your chocolate pudding, unless you are using premade
- Once jello shot is set, top each one with pudding, smoothing out the top.
- Use a small food processor to crumble the cookies up to make the dirt. Top each shot with the cookie "dirt"
- Decorate with gummy worms and enjoy!
Notes
Be sure to remove gummy worms and other decorations before eating!
