Enter Vanilla Mint Shake Gelatin Shots—a cool, creamy, and minty twist on the traditional gelatin shot, perfect for celebrating this luck-filled holiday in style!
These vibrant, creamy shots capture the essence of St. Patrick’s Day with their mint green color, offering a fun, playful way to toast the day. These shots are inspired by the famous “shamrock shake” that everyone loves to indulge in this time of year! While traditional gelatin shots are often fruity flavors, these vanilla mint shake gelatin shots add an unexpected twist that will delight you and your fellow St. Patrick’s day celebrators!

How to make Vanilla Mint Shake Gelatin Shots
For the alcohol: For these shots I use the vanilla mint shake flavor from Baileys. It’s really the perfect alcohol for this because you don’t have to add anything else. It says limited edition on the bottle but I have seen it year round in certain stores, so it just depends on your store! You could also use a combination of vanilla vodka and mint liquor, or peppermint vodka. This combination would be a much stronger mint flavor, so for more of a milkshake flavor I would personally stick with the Bailys.
For the shot base: I used white hot chocolate for the shot base. It provides a good base that is nice a creamy and just a little sweet. You will mix this with knox gelatin to create the shot.
For the topping: I recommend topping these shots with whipped cream. You could also add some themed sprinkles for a little extra pizzazz! Shamrock shaped, plain green or even rainbow sprinkles would be perfect. Be sure to wait to add any toppings until just before serving, as the whipped cream tends to melt and go runny after a few hours!

Tips for making shots using gelatin
When using Knox (or a similar brand), make sure to let the gelatin bloom before mixing it into or heating the liquid. To do this, simply sprinkle the gelatin over the liquid and let it sit, allowing the powder to absorb the liquid and swell up. This process helps the gelatin dissolve more smoothly, ensuring better results in your recipe. It also prevents lumps from forming, which is key—because no one wants a lumpy gelatin shot!
